What is a Heat Pump?

In the world of climate control, a heat pump

is the master brain behind our comfort. Designed to move heat from one area to another, a heat pump is used either to cool down a building during the summer months or heat it up when the temperatures outside begin to drop.

During the summer, when temperatures begin to oppress, a heat pump removes heat or BTUs ( British Thermal Units ) from the indoor air and transfers it to the outdoors.  By removing the heat from the air, the indoor atmosphere feels cooler.

During the winter months, a heat pump works in the opposite manner by collecting heat from the outside air and pumping that collected heat into the building, making it feel warmer inside.

Heat pumps not only heat and cool, they help to circulate the air , bringing in fresh infusions of air, while filtering out the fine particulates.  Heat pumps are also very valuable in removing unwanted humidity from the air it circulates.
