What is hatha yoga?

Hatha yoga (gazoontite) is the closest thing

to what most people think of as "yoga".  It is a discipline that prepares the practitioner for the spiritual path, namely meditation .

Hatha yoga conditions the body to help clear the mind, so that meditation can be practiced without physical obstacles. This is accomplished through a series of poses, or asanas , and controlled breathing .

This is the kind of yoga that I practice, if you can call it that.  My routine lasts about twenty minutes and can be done anywhere that I lay a yoga mat.  I mostly do it for the stretching and relaxation, my form of meditation is going to bed and sleeping well.
