much more organized. With a little effort, this is a fairly simple job that can be completed in a weekend.

Begin by estimating the size and design of the closet that you want. Also keep in mind the door swing, the amount of shelf space that you want, and the amount of space that you need for hanging your clothes. Once you determine the amount of material you need, go down to the home improvement store and pick up what you need.

Before you start assembly, draw your plan on the wall. Use a stud finder to locate the studs in the wall. Now cut your materials to the correct dimensions. Attach 1x4 boards to the wall where you marked the studs, and build out your closet frame. Now cut your shelf material, and nail it to 1x4 stringers. Next, screw the rod holders into the stringers and attach the rod. Now mount the rod supports.
