What Is Cardiovascular Disease?

Answer:
Cardiovascular disease refers to heart and blood vessel disease, and this group of conditions includes a number of different problems that are all related to a problem referred to as atherosclerosis.

This is a condition that develops when plaque starts to build up on the walls of the arteries.

The build up of plaque narrows the arteries and makes it harder for blood to flow through them. In the event of a blood clot, the blood flow can actually stop, and this can lead to a heart attack or stroke. A heart attack happens when the blood flow to a part of the heart is blocked by a blood clot. If the clot blocks the flow, then the heart muscle that is supplied by that artery will begin to die. It is usually necessary to take medication and make some life changes after your first heart attack.

A stroke will occur when a blood vessel that supplies the brain with blood gets blocked by a blood clot. When the blood supply is blocked the brain cells that are fed by that blood vessel will then begin to die. This will also lead to a loss of functionality as the brain controls our ability to live our lives.

What Is CHD?

Answer:
CHD , also known as Coronary Heart Disease or Coronary Artery Disease ,

is defined as the medical disorder characterized by the formation of plaque inside the coronary arteries.

Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is one of the most common forms of disease of heart as well as an important cause of premature death in countries like Australia, New Zealand, South America and Europe. Coronary heart disease (CHD) is generally caused by atherosclerosis that occurs when fatty material, calcium, scar tissues and cholesterol form a plaque in coronary arteries. This results in narrowing of arteries and reduction in the flow of blood to heart. The various symptoms of Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) include chest pain, difficulty in breathing, heart attack, fatigue, weakness, and angina.

Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) can be diagnosed through coronary angiography, echocardiogram, electrocardiogram, exercise stress test, magnetic resonance angiography and nuclear scan. The treatment of Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) includes medications like ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, aspirin, nitroglycerin, as well as through lifestyle changes and surgical procedures.
